Local business woman Bernadette Georgiou is a finalist nominated in the National AusMumpreneur Awards. The 2016 St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards Nominee Category for 'Business Service Award'
The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The AusMumpreneur Network celebrate and recognise Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
"SPARKLEBOX was brought to life when I realised that I wasn't doing what I loved. My passion for creativity had taken a back seat to life and its commitments whilst being immersed in the corporate world of a working mother of three gorgeous girls. So I decided to follow my passion & dream for creativity. This is when Sparklebox was born. So now I can say - I love what I do”.
There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Bernadette Georgiou explains, “It allows me to be the best mum possible. Having the ability to take a few hours to go to a school assembly or athletics carnival, all while I’m living my dream of running my own business”.
It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Bernadette Georgiou gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise.”Do your research, seek advice, ask lots of questions,& make a plan! It’s ok to change your goals along the way, be flexible, ignore the negative chatter from unsupportive people, believe in yourself & be brave”.
